The Timaru Harrier Club Inc was formed in 1925 and is based in Timaru. Runs are held every weekend during the winter (March through to October) from various locations throughout the South Canterbury area.
We cater for all levels and ages of runners and walkers. The club has around 50 active members - consisting of competitive runners, social runners, joggers and social walkers.

All visitors and prospective members (runners and walkers) are very welcome to participate in any club run.

Club Run hosted by the Pullar family - 8th October 2011
The penultimate run for the winter season will be held this Saturday from Eileen & Greg's home at 8 Bradley Street, Timaru
The club sends its condolences to Eileen, Conor, Alex, Cody & families on the recent passing of their dad & grandfather
 
Lovelock Memorial 10km Fun Run & Walk - 1st October 2011
 
Well done to all those involved with the organising & running of this event - an enjoyable time for all the competitors

Senior & Masters runners   $45
 
Children - Age 17 & Under $15
 
Social Members - Walkers $20
 
 
 
There is no additional registration fee (as in past years), but those runners that wish to compete in interclub races as registered runners
are asked to indicate this on the membership form (so registration numbers can be obtained)
 
The club subscription is to be paid as soon as possible or by arrangement with the club Treasurer

Dunedin Marathon
Well done to Paul Lynch, Jesse Gibbs, Hayden Dawson & Chloe Barnard who competed in the Dunedin Marathon & Half Marathon
Paul completed the Marathon crossing the finish line in 103rd place out of the 210 finishers
In the Half Marathon - Jesse Gibbs finished 8th overall (1:19:08), Hayden Dawson finished 28th overall (11th Masters Man) 1:26:03 & Chloe Barnard ran a good time of 1:48:04 to finish in 263rd place overall (57th Women) in her first half marathon
This years Dunedin Half Marathon had a field of nearly 1,100 finishers
 
Squire Cup Races - 75th Year
Well done to all involved with this years 75th running of the Squire Cup races. It was good to catch up with some of the clubs older members who remember this event well from past years
Congratulations to Dean McAlister for winning this years Squire Cup & Toni Smith for winning the Womens Jubilee Cup
The afternoon tea & official function was enjoyed by all, with many stories shared of past runs held on the tough Silverstream Farm course
Thanks to John Souter, Peter Gardner, Paul Lynch & Stephanie Payne for laying out & packing up the course

Timaru Round the Gorges Relay
Congratulations to all those club members that took part in the Relay (whether in a team or helping out)
The Timaru No.1 team (Andrew Jamieson, David Wreford, Craig Hayman, Jesse Gibbs, Paul Lynch, Roger Tackney, Michael Fox & Ben Wreford) ran well to be the fastest team overall & finish 1st in the A Grade
The Timaru No.2 Womens team (Annah Spurdle, Hayley Davidson, Eileen Pullar, Chloe Barnard, Judy Hay, Donna Reyes, Andrea Wreford & Toni Smith) finished 3rd in the E Grade and were the fastest Womens team overall
Several club members also ran the quickest lap times on the day - Lap 1 Andrew Jamieson (MM), Annah Spurdle (W19); Lap 2 Craig Hayman (M50), Hayley Davidson (W19); Lap 4 Chloe Barnard (SW); Lap 5 Paul Lynch (MM); Lap 6 Roger Tackney (MM); Lap 7 Andrea Wreford (W50); Lap 8 Toni Smith (SW)
