The Timaru Harrier Club Inc was formed in 1925 and is based in Timaru. Runs are held every weekend during the winter (March through to October) from various locations throughout the South Canterbury area.
We cater for all levels and ages of runners and walkers. The club has around 50 active members - consisting of competitive runners, social runners, joggers and social walkers.

All visitors and prospective members (runners and walkers) are very welcome to participate in any club run.

Please note the Season Programme has the SC Cross Country on the wrong weekend (1 week too early), the run on Saturday 19 June is from Roger & Janenne Tackney's house in Victoria Street, Timaru
 
South Canterbury Cross Country Championships, Claremont, Timaru - 26th June 2010
 
Entries are being taken for club members to take part in the SC Cross Country
The races start at 1:30pm with the Womens & childrens races over 3km-6km, with the mens race starting around 2:00pm & running over 9km (6km for the over 60 Masters Men)
Please turn up early to ensure you don't miss the race and have some time to check out the course
 
Club Cross Country Championships, Torepe Field , Temuka - 10th July 2010
Coming soon is the annual Club cross country championships - open to all financial club member, held around the Temuka Domain
Helpers will be required to help lay out the course, time the runnners and record the finish times, and after the race - collect in all the markers

Subscriptions for the 2010 season have been set, this year Athletics Canterbury have introduced a new Registration system so there have been some changes to the fees
There is no additional registration fee (as in past years), but those runners that wish to compete in interclub races as registered runners
are asked to indicate this on the membership form (so registration numbers can be obtained)
 
The club subscription is to be paid as soon as possible or by arrangement with the club Treasurer

Pleasant Point to Temuka 16km Handicap Road Race, Pleasant Point Domain
Sadly - due to the increasing cost of Traffic Management and low competitor numbers, the Pleasant Point to Temuka Road Race will no longer be held
Many thanks to all those competitors that have taken part in the race and social walks over the previous years for your support of the event

Norrie Cup Cross Country Races, Tinwald Domain Ashburton - 12th June 2010
Well done to those club members that took part in these interclub races in the Tinwald Domain
Congratulations to Nicola Rooney (1st in the Senior Women), Eleanor Aldridge (1st in the Under 16 Girls) and Jeremiah Tor-Kilson (1st in the Under 16 Boys)
 
SBS Christchurch Marathon, Christchurch - Sunday 6th June 2010
Congratulations to all those that took part in the events over Queen's Birthday weekend in the SBS Marathon, Half Marathon, 10km and Kid's Mara'Fun races
Well done to Jesse Gibbs, Toni Smith & Wayne Mills for all completing the marathon, and Andrew Jamieson, Craig Hayman, Leeanne Allnutt & Donna Reyes for finishing the Half Marathon
